The SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality is a nationally accredited training course that prepares you for work in the hospitality industry. To that end, Cert 3 includes training in delivering outstanding customer service and handling customer complaints. If you want to work in hotels, then there is responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and even units on gaming.
The course covers the skills you will need in all hospitality venues from humble cafes to casinos and high-end restaurants. The training focuses on the practical aspects of working in hospitality, so that means practising the things that you will have to do in the real world. Specifically, it means doing things like waiting tables, preparing simple meals and serving alcohol.
Cert 3 in Hospitality provides a pathway to work in all sorts of hospitality venues. But because there are a number of specialised units on offer, you can qualify to do more than just repetitive routine jobs.
The following are jobs it qualifies you for:
In short, this hospitality course consists of 15 units. 7 of the units are core units that everyone has to do, but another 8 are elective. The following are the core units:

If you have completed Certificate I in Hospitality, then you can claim:
Additionally, you can get credit for whatever ‘use hygienic practices unit’ that you did.
If you have completed Certificate II in Hospitality, then these are the core units you can claim credit for:
As with Certificate I, there is also one of the ‘use hygienic practices’ units.
There is also recognition of prior learning, so if you already work behind a bar and have your RSA (responsible service of alcohol) then you can get credit for that as well. We’re happy to discuss what you’ve done and adjust the course accordingly.
